ANA LEHRHAUPT, MA, LMSW
Ana is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, and families. Because of her rigorous training and extensive clinical experience, she is able to adapt her interventions to the particular needs of her clients. Ana is fluent in Spanish, French, and English.
Ana was born and raised in Uruguay where she graduated as a Licentiate in Psychology. She then completed three years of post-graduate studies in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Clínica Prego specializing in children, followed by four years on Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Asociación Uruguaya de Psicoterapia Psicoanalítica, specializing in adults. While in Uruguay, Ana was in private practice for over ten years, offering psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families. She was also a professor of Psychology at the Universidad de la República in Montevideo.
Ana has lived and worked in several countries gaining experience in helping individuals from different cultures. In particular, she coached members of the expatriate community in France and the United States with the emotional challenges that arise when moving between cultures. When Ana moved to Austin, Texas she complemented her international experience with graduate studies in cultural anthropology and migration, earning a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ana settled with her family in Houston in 2004 and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Houston. Ana is the founder of I Wish Everybody Knew®, a program that promotes the wellbeing of immigrants by strengthening their identity and by facilitating their integration into the community. Her work was recognized with an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and she is a Fellow for Life.
