SUMMER GRACE DANNER, MA, LPC ASSOCIATE
Summer provides a confidential space where her patients can openly share about their experiences and challenges. Often her work involves helping her patients to identify recurring themes and patterns that may be causing them distress or getting in the way of the lives they want to lead. Others may desire to develop skills to tolerate a broader range of emotions and explore how to live in alignment with their values. Summer works collaboratively with her patients as they integrate their past and present into a more coherent narrative and find pathways forward. Her hopes are that her patients are able to experience increased self-awareness, more resilience when faced with difficulties, and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.
Summer draws from her training in a variety of modalities including psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral interventions, and other evidenced-based practices. Her clinical interests include trauma, adjustment concerns, grief and loss, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality concerns and relationship issues. She works primarily with adults and has a special interest in working with military, veterans, first-responders, and other professionals in high-pressure occupations.
Summer has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has experience within multiple settings including inpatient and outpatient care where she provided individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked on both the clinical and business ends of mental health care. Currently, she provides clinical services at The Lovett Center and business development at Ethos Behavioral Health Group.
