As a clinical fellow at Ethos Behavioral Health’s Lovett Center in Houston, Texas, Breslyn Shapiro utilizes an integrative person-centered and strengths-based approach that incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused therapies. In addition to her formal education, Breslyn has personal experience navigating personal and family recovery. As a clinician, Breslyn specializes in treating individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and other co-occurring disorders. Breslyn believes that building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship is essential to providing safe, person-centered care.

Breslyn’s experience living abroad in Bangkok, Thailand, and Taipei, Taiwan from 2009-2013 led her to pursue an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Asian American Studies from the University of Houston. During her undergraduate fieldwork, Breslyn gained experience working with preschool-aged children at the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School. She enjoyed working one on one with children, which led her to pursue a career in social work. Prior to participating in Ethos Training Institute clinical social work internship, Breslyn gained experience working in various mental health and substance use treatment settings including Menninger Clinic’s young adult community integration program, Pathfinder as a Resident Advisor and recovery support specialist, and a residential substance use counselor at Positive Recovery Centers Hill Country treatment center. Breslyn is passionate about this work because she believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and grow. 

Breslyn lives with her husband, two cats, and a corgi puppy in Houston’s Museum District. She enjoys traveling, exploring Houston’s international food scene, spending time outdoors, yoga, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
