Elham Hemmat, LPC
Program Director – Pathos IOP | Clinician at Ethos Wellness Lovett
Ellie Hemmat is a licensed professional counselor, certified in trauma, anxiety, and personality disorders.
Ellie received her bachelor’s in psychology from Houston and in 2012 completed her master’s in clinical psychology from Chicago. Initially, research is what drew her to the field of psychology. However, during an internship with the Children and Adolescent Behavioral Services unit at Lake County Health Department, she realized working with patients was also amongst her passions. While there, Ellie provided a variety of therapeutic services, including assessments, diagnostic evaluations, legal advocacy, individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
After completing her education, Ellie served as a clinical case manager and permanent housing navigator for a homeless service agency, aiding Houston’s homeless population dealing with mental illness in finding both appropriate shelter and treatment. She then worked at a psychiatric hospital as a clinical therapist for the inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, providing group, individual, and family therapy, for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Ellie feels extremely privileged to be the person her clients feel comfortable opening up to, and she is honored to be a sounding board for their troubles and help guide them towards wellness and success, whatever that might mean for them. Ellie provides compassion, humor, and a safe space to her clients. She notes that it feels like a special gift to be a part of their healing journey, trusted with their secrets, struggles, and successes.
Ellie is a current member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
