Dr. Michael Sprintz is a nationally recognized expert in the intersection of addiction and chronic pain. A passionate and engaging public speaker, physician executive, consultant, and software entrepreneur, he trained at Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson Cancer Center and is triple board-certified in Addiction Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Anesthesiology. As IOP Medical Director at The Lovett Center, he leads the medical care behind the intensive outpatient program alongside IOP Program Director Ellie Hemmat.

In recovery for more than 24 years, Dr. Sprintz founded the Sprintz Center for Pain and Recovery in 2013 before joining Lovett. He is also the founder of Cellarian, Inc., a company dedicated to automating medical necessity documentation so that healthcare providers can focus more on patient care. He has served on the Drug Testing Expert Panel for the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and currently serves on ASAM’s Practice Management and Regulatory Committee, the FDA’s Analgesic and Anesthetic Drug Products Advisory Committee, and the Texas Medical Association’s Behavioral Health Committee.

Dr. Sprintz enjoys life in The Woodlands with his wife, Kimberly, their son, Havon, and their four cats, two large Savannahs and two normal-sized companions.
