About

Whole-person care
through nutrition.

Moe Schlachter is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator who has provided client-centered nutrition care in Houston since 2012. He earned a Master of Science in Nutrition at Texas Woman’s University in Houston. At The Lovett Center, his nutrition work joins clinical treatment as part of caring for the whole person, a fit that matters especially alongside eating disorder treatment.

Moe uses Medical Nutrition Therapy and evidence-based counseling techniques to help clients of all ages maximize nutrition-related quality of life and enhance health-associated behaviors. He creates a judgement-free zone where clients can explore their goals and set real progress in motion, and because one size does not fit all, he tailors his approach to each person’s needs, learning style, and communication preferences. His experience is comprehensive, spanning diabetes management, eating disorder treatment, weight management, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular conditions, pediatric nutrition, and enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Beyond his work with clients, Moe has been an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at San Jacinto College since 2014, and he is a frequent contributor in the media with monthly cooking spots on CBS television in Beaumont and as a guest nutrition correspondent on ESPN Radio. He served as President of the Houston Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was nationally recognized as Texas’ Young Dietitian of the Year in 2015.
