Who this is for

The stretch between 18 and 25
is its own kind of hard.

Leaving home, finding your footing in school or work, figuring out who you are apart from your parents. It is a lot to carry at once, and it is exactly when many people first need real support.

Our young adult track was shaped for people in exactly this window: individuals ages 18 to 25 whose mental health has started getting in the way of individuating from their parents, succeeding in school, or building steady self-esteem. It draws on the same outpatient care we provide for adults more broadly, tuned to this stage of life. You do not have to have it figured out, and you do not need a diagnosis in hand to start.

Care is run by master's-level clinicians and meets you where your life already is, so you can keep up with work and school while you do the work of getting better. The National Institute of Mental Health keeps a plain guide to caring for your mental health, and SAMHSA explains the types of outpatient treatment. Either way, we start the same place: a conversation about what is actually going on.

  • You are 18 to 25 and something underneath has stopped feeling manageable
  • Anxiety, depression, trauma, or substance use is getting in the way of school or work
  • You want help without pressing pause on your classes, your job, or your independence
  • You are ready to start with a conversation, not a label

What makes it fit

Care built for the leap into adulthood,
not a scaled-down version of it.

The same clinical depth, arranged around school, work, and a life you are still building.

  • Intensive without the pause

Our intensive outpatient program gives you real structure several days a week while you keep living at home and stay in school or on the job. Licensed clinicians run the care, not a scaled-back version of it.

    How IOP works
  • Group therapy with people your age

Much of the work happens alongside other young adults facing the same transitions. Individual therapy and group therapy together, so you are not doing this in isolation.

  • More than talk

The track blends individual and group therapy with meditation, trauma-informed yoga, and financial skills training, so progress shows up in your day, not just the session.

  • Family in the room when it helps

When it serves the work, care can be paired with family therapy and support from a recovery therapist. Growing up does not have to mean going it alone.

    Family therapy
  • Matched to the right level of care

You start with an assessment, not a fixed program. From weekly therapy to intensive outpatient to our partial hospitalization program of intensive day support, we match care to what you need and step it down as you steady.

  • Mental health and substance use, together

Many young adults are carrying both. We treat co-occurring conditions in one place, so you are not handed between programs that do not talk to each other.

It is for young adults ages 18 to 25 seeking outpatient mental health or addiction care, or both. The Lovett Center works with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use, along with the specific pressures of this stage: individuating from parents, finding footing in school or work, and building steady self-esteem. You do not need a diagnosis in hand to start.

How IOP fits a schedule

Care blends individual therapy with group therapy alongside other young adults, plus meditation, trauma-informed yoga, and financial skills training. When it helps, it can be paired with family therapy and support from a recovery therapist. The level of care is matched to what you need, from weekly therapy to intensive outpatient.

Only in the ways that help, and with your say in it. For many young adults, family therapy is part of untangling old patterns and building a healthier kind of independence. For others, the work stays more individual. We shape it with you rather than for you.

Family therapy

You start with one conversation. Reach out, we talk through what is going on, verify your benefits, and help you find the right level of care and the right clinician. There is no wrong door and no commitment in asking.
